In the ancient Egyptian Anu/Iunu/On/Heliopolis mythological account the mysterious Benben Stone first appeared during Sep Tepi or ‘point of first creation,’ as a ‘mound,’ after the waters of ‘Creation,’ called Nun had subsided. The Benben Stone has also been described as a conical and pyramidal-shaped object based upon ancient eyewitness reports, and modern scholars believe it could have been a black meteorite. The Benben Stone was said to represent the cosmic seed of all life produced from the ‘sperm’ of Atum, the Supreme God.
It appears the word ‘Benben’ has its origin in the self-created copulating universal God, Atum’s, act of masturbation with his ‘hand’ after being bored and thus creating the cosmos. The masturbating ‘hand’ of Atum is symbolic of the feminine/mother God which was needed to form the universe. The Benben Stone epitomizes the polarity of male and female in accordance with the laws of the universe being that it embodied the supreme godly union between the Universal/Heavenly Father and the Universal/Earthly Mother. In the ancient Egyptian epic, it was Atum as the Universal/Heavenly Father in serpent form, and Isis (Auset) as the Universal/Earthly Mother Who’s Womb was the Benben Stone. The Benben Stone exemplified the cosmically consummated spiritual connection between heaven and earth. As the primordial Womb, the Benben Stone carried the great cosmic seed of life, Atum’s spirit, the ‘light’ which was visible in the form of a brazen-fiery ‘rainbow’ illumined serpent.
In addition to having its origin in the sacred city of Anu/Iunu/On/Heliopolis, the Benben Stone also sat atop The Great Pyramid of Gizah. The ancient Egyptian texts revealed that the Benben Stone, the chief cornerstone of The Great Pyramid, attracted pilgrims who came to witness, worship, and to be blessed and healed by Atum’s powerful coiled serpent spirit that could be seen moving inside of the transparent electromagnetic energy-filled universal-earthly Womb, called the Benben Stone. It seems that the Benben Stone disappeared from ancient Egypt, and then resurfaced again, only to disappear over time, when Egypt was waning in her national and spiritual power and thus had succumbed to invading forces. However, for me, the author of the forthcoming book, Finding Your Benben Stone, I can say that on October 3, 2013, while traveling through New Mexico, the mythological and mysterious Benben Stone, the eternal Womb that connects the earth and universe together as One appeared in my presence. Seeing this legendary object before my eyes was the greatest experience of my life. For more details on my beyond belief encounter with the ancient Egyptian Benben Stone which housed the life-giving seed of Atum, the universal Creator, please see my blog post titled, The Old Testament Serpent Was Really The Cosmic Seed Of Life Inspired By The Benben Stone Of Ancient Egypt.
